The assignment was to mock up 3 views of a household item of medium difficulty. I chose my trusty carrot/daikon/potato peeler from Japan.
With a digital caliper I sketched out the dimensions of the exterior top view, side view and front view.
It took some working to get the hang of Vectorworks. From several errors and the need to remeasure and redraw, I was able to get faster at sketching out the dimensions. I met with some trouble trying to measure the radius of the external ellipses so I drew the best conclusions from the visuals and tools at hand.
By the end I had a much better sense of the software and how to sketch out the dimensions as close to accurate as possible.
